The Signal is a free briefing on real estate valuation and collateral risk, published twice a month by ValuSignal. It is written for collateral risk teams and appraisers.
What we cover
UAD 3.6 and other Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac policy changes, federal and state law, court cases, AI tools used in valuation work, and local market data.
How we source articles
Articles link to the documents behind their claims. We use primary sources where they exist: agency guides and bulletins, the Federal Register, statutes, court filings and public datasets. When a claim rests on press reports, a vendor or an industry group, the article says so.
Our market analyses publish aggregated figures. Examples built from real files are anonymized or labeled as composites.
How we build the reference tools
The Appraiser Finder searches a copy of the public ASC National Registry export and shows the date of that copy. It is not an official verification source. Each entry in the short-term rental guide shows when its research was last reviewed and links to its sources. Check the original source before relying on either one.
How we use AI
We use AI tools for research, data analysis and drafting. We check published facts against the sources linked in each article.
Sponsors
Sponsored placements are labeled and kept separate from the editorial sections. A sponsorship is not an endorsement. See how sponsorship works.
Corrections
If you find an error, email info@valusignal.com with the page and the source. We correct confirmed errors and update the revision date on the article.
