
William Engel
Bill Engel is an accredited machinery and equipment appraiser through the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He holds the FASA designation due to his membership in ASA's College of Fellows.
Bill currently holds the position of Immediate Past President with ASA, having completed his tenure as 2025/2026 International President on June 30, 2026. He is also President of Strategic Asset Management, a machinery and equipment appraisal firm out of Western New York, and has been active in appraising for over thirty years. He has taught various Principles of Valuation courses for ASA, along with writing articles and presenting topics at conferences.
In his spare time, Bill enjoys writing, photography, and spending time with his unbelievably adorable grandchildren.

It is designed to give attendees a forward- looking view of where appraisal practice is heading, how standards and expectations are shifting, and why professional leadership and multidisciplinary perspective matter in the next phase of valuation.
